From the app, or from any browser
The browser version does everything the installed app does here, so nothing has to be installed or installed again.
- Open Porchlight. In a browser it is at app.porchlight.watch/account.
- Sign in with the email address and password of the account.
- Open Your people, and choose Account at the bottom.
- Choose Delete your account. You are shown what goes, and asked to type DELETE.
The account is gone when the screen returns you to sign-in. It is not a request that goes into a queue.
It refuses in one case. It will not delete while a watch of yours is open, because that would leave the people waiting on it with silence. End the watch first.
If you cannot sign in
Write to support@porchlight.watch from the email address the account uses, with the subject Delete my account. It has to come from that address, because that is the only way to tell the account is yours.
A person does it by hand. It is done within 30 days, and you get a reply when it is.
What is deleted
- Your profile: your name, and your phone number if you set one.
- Every watch you have started, and the record of what happened on each one, with any plate or position on it.
- Your sealed note, if you wrote one.
- The people you named, and the people who named you. Nobody keeps you listed.
- The phones and browsers Porchlight could ring for you.
- Your sign-in. The email is free to use again, by you or by anyone.
What is kept
Nothing of the account. Porchlight keeps no copy it could give back, so this cannot be undone.
A signup to the list on this website is not part of an account, and deleting an account does not touch it. To have one removed, ask at the same address.
